A CEO keynote opener that plays to thousands in Monaco.
SUSE needed an opening film for their 2022 global sales summit — a live event with thousands of attendees in Monaco. The piece had to set the emotional and visual tone for the entire conference from the first frame.
This wasn't a social ad. There are no second takes on a live stage. The file plays once, in front of everyone, and it either lands or it doesn't.

Production Pipeline
01
Creative Direction & References
The visual direction was drawn from automotive and luxury brand cinema — Porsche, McLaren, and Nike campaigns were the primary references. The goal was to bring the cinematic quality of a car commercial to enterprise software. Edits were cut to music first in AE to establish pacing, energy, and the emotional arc before any 3D work began.
02
Environment & World Build
The environment was built in Cinema 4D inspired by two worlds — Tron's geometric neon-lit architecture and the glamour of Monaco. A full 3D city was constructed with architectural scale and detail that could hold up on a large-format LED wall. An animatic was produced and approved before committing to final renders.
03
Mocap & Character Animation
Motion capture was performed by Brian Weaver for the principal character — a figure driving through the environment. Mocap data was cleaned and integrated into C4D, with Hector Polikov contributing junior animation and simulation support. The character performance was timed to the music edit established in pre-production.
04
Simulations — Smoke & Light Trails
X-Particles handled all simulation work — volumetric smoke that reacted to the character's movement and light trail effects that streaked through the environment. Multiple simulation passes were run and art-directed to hit the specific energy beats locked to the music edit.
05
Composite, Sparks & Grade
Octane EXR multi-pass renders were composited in After Effects. Practical spark elements were integrated into the composite to add tactile, real-world energy to the CG environment. A cinematic color grade was applied — high contrast, deep blacks, saturated accent colors — dialled to feel like the luxury car commercials that inspired the piece. Final output was spec'd to the Monaco venue's LED wall resolution.
